Brubaker, Smith take home overall honors at inaugural CGA Women’s Hickory Tourney

The inaugural CGA Women’s Hickory Tournament was conducted Wednesday at Riverdale Dunes in Brighton, with 62 golfers competing for low gross and net honors in six flights.

The tournament was limited to players with handicaps from 20 to 36.

Earning overall low gross honors for the event was Margaret Brubaker (left) of Riverdale, who shot a 13-over-par 85. JoAnn Smith (below) of Foothills Golf Course claimed the overall low net honor with an 11-under-par 61.

Here are the low gross scores from each of the six flights:

First Flight — Margaret Brubaker, Riverdale 85

Second Flight — Marcia Hall, Overland Park 94

Third Flight — JoAnn Smith, Foothills 90

Fourth Flight — Carmen Barber, Wellshire 92

Fifth Flight — Kathy Nold, Littleton GC 98

Sixth Flight — Lidia Suarez, Broadlands 103
